Most students have some kind of expectation of senior year, like how easy and fun it will be. These expectations are made by students who has underclassmen thought senior year would be a blast, although it is sometimes true, I had three students answer the question, “did your expectation of senior year match your reality?”

Student 1: Assumed it would be easy going and there would be work that would go towards one’s future. His/Her expectations did not not match their reality.

Student 2: No, his/her reality did not match their expectations. Senior year is more stressful and harder to deal with socially than anticipated.

Student 3: This student on the other hand had their expectations met by the unity of their classmates due to it being their last year together as a class.

Yes, one can have a great senior year, but do not expect that there will be no work and that all the classes being taken will be easy. Personally, I was blindsided by the endless hours of school work and the sudden rush of responsibility to decide my future and become and adult. Again, not everyone’s senior year is the same, in the end it is what you make of it. Twelfth grade year is truly preparation for life after high school whether it is college or entering the workforce.
